Virginia Overton

Virginia Overton’s work frequently uses recycled materials that are found on site, you can see through the process of making on site she reads the surrounding architecture and combines her material with ropes and straps and the space itself to create sculptures and installations which obstruct and divide the space. Although the materials she uses are very minimal the carefully balanced structures have strong presence through the use of gravity, weight and the particular use of her materials. Everything has a purpose and is needed for the work to exist.
