Tomma Abts

Untitled #1 (2013)                           Untitled #1B (2013)

Tomma Abts’ drawings exist around the process of their creation, the works have no preconceived composition or idea and are guided by her own intuition. These imaginative geometric forms might exist in their own world and have no rules but by viewing them you can build a language which links with architecture, space, movement and atmosphere. The curved, straight and see through forms look like skeletons of futuristic architecture, mapping depth from the use of layering and repetition. Because these drawings have no rules we have the freedom to build our own relationship and world within them.
